for a persuasive writing you must start with a general idea and then narrow it to a specific idea( I mean your own idea) which is going to be supported later. To support your main idea you can refer to your own personal experiences, the famous quotes or proverbs, the authentic resourses like: books; articles of newspaper, etc.
