Need advise for entering in a dog show?

I have a beautiful show quality Pomeranian with many champion titles in this blood line. I want to get into showing but i am not sure how to start. any advise?Need advise for entering in a dog show?
Call your local kennel club. Most of them run handling classes that are a great mix of novice and experienced handlers. They will help you with everything from grooming, to stacking on the table, to gaiting. Also, go to some shows in your area and talk to the owners and handlers (after they have been in the ring) and watch how they do it. (go to www.infodog.com and search by state) Also, talk to the breeder you got your dog from for advice on grooming, etc..Need advise for entering in a dog show?
Find a mentor in the breed. The best place is with a local or national breed club (or your dog's breeder).
If your in the USA, your dog will have to have full registered with either the American Kennel Club or the United Kennel Club.





For both, go to their websites, visit their ';Events'; page, find a show you would like to enter, download an entry form, fill it out with the appropriate money and send it in. They'll send you a conformation of the show, your armband number, the classes you entered and directions.








I suggest you contact your dogs breeder, she will be able to help you get started.
