Need advise about cockatiel tail feathers?

My son has 2 cockatiel's, he is concerned because the younger one always seems to have damp tail feathers when he is handling him. The other does not. Does anyone know what this indicates? Is it a sign of poor health?Need advise about cockatiel tail feathers?
Damp tail feathers?驴? That's odd. Are they in the same cage? Even if they weren't they usually have a favorite spot to sit on. He could've picked his water bowl to sit on all the time and that could explain it. Mine prefers to sit on his cuttle bone when it's bed time. But if it's damp near his butt, maybe the food doesn't agree with him and maybe change what he's eating. But it sounds more like he's playing or doing something in the water bowl. A sign of poor health would be if he were sitting on the bottom of the cage not doing anything with his eyes closed. Feathers all puffed up.Good luck.Need advise about cockatiel tail feathers?
damp? that's a new one...

few things to start with...

Pellet or seed diet?

Fresh fruits and vegi's on a daily basis?

Are the birds caged together or seperate?

Are they covered at night?

Does the poop look normal? (white center green around the outside? if it's runny or a different color and you haven't fed any fruits or vegi's the bird should be taken to an avian vet.)

Do the birds have annual ';well'; bird check ups? This includes blood tests to check heart and liver normalties.

Do they have water dishes or bottles??
Most likely it is sitting in the water bowl ..They like water in their cage to clean them selves. So more than likely thats just what he has been doing.
