I only want to password protect selected folders on my USB hard drive. Plus, key thing to remember is that I carry this HD around with me so it should be able to work on computers without requiring any special software installed. I'm afraid you'll need special software if you want your password protection to actually protect your files.

dont think u need software.. you can just password protect the files and also if u want them hidden just do so
