Because it's a fresh perspective on a problem. Same reason a small group is more effective at problem solving than just one individual. Everybody is different and has different experiences, so everyone has something to add. Also like everyone else said, it isn't your life, so it's easy to give advice when you aren't in the middle of dealing with whatever the problem is.Why does it seem easier to advise others but not yourself?
It's hard to advise yourself because you're in the middle of the situation, but when you're helping someone else you can view it objectively. You can see all sides of the situation and make a judgement, unlike when you only see your side (or only what you can see), and you don't get another point of view. Why does it seem easier to advise others but not yourself?
because your problems are problems for a reason, if you could easily advise yourself and fix it, it wouldn't be much of a problem. also, it is not easy to admit that you have a certain problem even when you know you do and you don't want to face your fears. when it is someone else and you advise them, the effects don't effect you at all so you can't go wrong.
hope that wasn't too confusing..
That is why psychiatrict have to be paid and enjoy the job. They give advice plus medication if any and get all paid for it. IT IS EASY to advice others because it doesn't concern you directly. And you can pin-point exactly the problem with only one glance on it. BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, we are having difficulty in giving advice to ourselves because of the circumstances surrounding us most probably the question involved.
THAT IS WHY we need advice from another source or another human being. That is called bonding. If we can solved our own problem then there shouldn't be a population anymore, God wouldn't multiple men and women anymore. Only a few people on earth will do. THAT IS THE MAGIC OF IT, we never see it but it is all right in our face. Let us all live together in harmony. It is also the same like saying I SCRATCH YOUR BACK YOU SCRATCH MINE. Nobody can scratch his own back can you?
The magic of ONE WORLD, ONE PEOPLE. The concept that elude us from the beginning of time, if you see the pages of history books you will find war and savagery all through out the ages. In the stone age, men have to survive through the rough environment that is why they kill another person to conquer his land in order to live there if not he will die. That is why we need each other and to live perhaps forever.
There is no real answer to the question.. I give advice really well to other people.. maybe not on here, but to my friends and people in person I do. You may be able to talk a friend through a breakup, or talk a friend through a really hard time.. but when it's yourself, you need the talking to.. That's just the way it is.
because though you may be good at giving advice, it's a lot scarier to admit to yourself that that's what you need to do, and even scarier to take the plunge and follow it.
like take me. i'm great at giving relationship advice, pretty much everyone i advise is satisfied with it.
but i've never had a boyfriend. ever.
i'm just not good at admitting to myself what i need to do, because i don't want to think of what i'll need to do.
so i end up taking my stupid friends' advice and not what i would advise myself because i figure hey, things are working out for them!
except that that may be because i told them what to do.
viscous cycle. thanks for this question, it made me think and realize this about myself.
'cause you have an unbiased or impartial point of view. you are clearly advising through logic and reasoning as well as fairness and justice.
as opposed to when it is applied to your own situation, you also consider what will happen to you after your decision as well as your emotions. your judgment has become blur because of those factors.
Good Question. I have been ask why don't I take some of my own advice and to be honest I don't know. I guess it's just harder to listen to yourself because you know that you are right but to yourself it doesn't seem right until it comes from someone else.
Because you see the situation from outside and u can analyze more thoroughly, but if you're inside, it's like if you were blind and u r unable to assimilate what you have to do.
[Sorry if i made mistakes, english student, hope u understand me]
because you know yourself the best, and sometimes its hard to give yourself advice when you dont have any experience to back it up, unlike using experience for somebody else's issue.
your own well being tends to be more important then someone else's, therefore you are confused whether the advice you give yourself is actually efficient.
Because as the old saying goes ';it's easier said than done'; this is very true and pointing the finger or giving your opinion is always easy.
It's like the old saying, ';You can't see the forest for the trees.'; In other words, you can't be objective about your own problems. Even psychiatrists see each other for help with their own issues.
it's easy to say something...
but doing it yourself it's hard...
because there are no personal consequences for the advice you give, you take your own decisions more seriously.
Because you know the advice you are giving others is really not worth taking, maybe.
Because I know I'm giving sh!t advise to others!
You don't suffer the consequences of any actions.
i'd like to believe that as human beings we like to be kind and help each other
but ive come to know thats just not true... : /
so really....i dont know...
That's a good question...I don't know the answer but I totally understand what you're saying. When you find out let me know!
CHEERS!! : )
When you advise others it doesnt matter to you.
because it is easier to find fault in others and not your self
because your emotions are involved.
emotions blur the issue
Do what i say don t do what i do!
Dont want to see that you have problems
Because NO ONE takes their own advice. Duh...
Words are empty.
i ask myself that
cause ur not the one who has to do work
cus u make excuses
