My chiropractor did several adjustments on Monday to release toxins from my liver. The next day I was extrememly stiff and had an aching on each leg on the outside of my thighs. Three days later I had a burning in my lower abdomen and had a temperature of 101.5 and had blood work done which revealed a high white blood cell count. I became extremely ill and was told it was a urinary tract infection. I was put on Cipro for 7 days. I was doubled over in pain. Could this be a problem with my intestines and if so, what can I do? My chiropractor cannot see me for 1 more week.I became extremely ill after my chiropractor released toxins from my liver, can anyone advise me?
drink four glasses of water a day and alternate with cranberry or grapefruit juices.I became extremely ill after my chiropractor released toxins from my liver, can anyone advise me?
Drink lots of water. After a chiropractic visit (or massage therapist) they advise you to drink LOTS of water. The water aids in carrying the toxins through your system. If you don't drink enough water, the toxins stick around longer, causing you to be ill. So, when they tell you to go chug some water, they aren't kidding.
Follow your doctors orders. Water also helps clear out your intestines. If you are constipated, drinking warm or nearly hot water, can help move things along (if you know what I mean) faster. Putting a bit of lemon (the whole wedge, peel and all, can also help a bit. A little vitamin C never hurt anybody (unless you already get too much, then it can mess with you).
So, for now, make yourself a cup of tea (minus the tea, lol) and put a wedge of lemon in the hot water. When it cools off a bit, drink it. Then drink another 8 oz. glass of room temperature water. Keep drinking water, but don't over-do it. I would say to make your goal be one 8 ounce glass every hour and a half or so. That outta do it. Plus, my advice won't interfere with your medication or your doctors orders.
It's harder than you think to drink as much water as I told you... but you can do it!
P.S. Don't drink anything but WATER. Juices are great and all, but they tend to be high in sugar or too high in citric acid. Answerer 1 has the right idea, but with your tummy being so sensitive right now, it would probably be best to stick with water and only water (with the occasional small slice of lemon).
Drink lots of water to flush the toxins out!!!!
Go see your Medical doctor!
I'd call your PCP
UTI's are pretty common and it's not necessarily a result of the chiropractic adjustment. In the future when you go to the chiropractor you should ALWAYS soak in a warm tub with Epsom salts for at least 15 minutes. It helps draw out any toxins that may have been released during the procedure. Same with acupunture. I hope that you feel better soon :)
I would suggest seeing another Doctor (D.O.) or Chiro. I've been seeing Chiros. for over 30 yrs. and I've Never! Ever! Heard of an ';adjustment'; to release toxins from a liver!!
I agree with what someone else here has said-- go see a regular doctor, or if you are still in pain tonight, the ER. You might need a stronger antibiotic, and if it is a kidney infection they may even want to keep you for a day or two, to give you iv strength antibiotics. I also agree it probably wasn't brought on by what the chiropractor did; only a medical doctor can tell you if your intestines might also be involved. I'll say a prayer for you, but get thee to a (regular) doctor asap! You will be glad that you did.
If you really want to detoxify your liver and gall bladder I would suggest reading the book ';Home Remedies';from Amish country. It has lots of cures for just about anything including the detox of the liver.Covers everything from colds to cancer.Good luck and hopefully this will shed some light on the subject.
