Aside from not playing what good tips advise can you pass on?
Blackjack is one of those games that require both skill and luck! It is one of the only casino games that is not completely a game of chance. The key to winning blackjack other than becomming a professional card counter is to understand when to hit and when to stand. There is also another factor that comes into play and that is how many decks are being used in the blackjack shoe. Typically casinos will load the shoe with at least 6 decks and this increases the odds to the house signifigantly. The golden rule of blackjack is to know your limits, if you are on a losing streak it's time to walk from the table. Never chase your losses and only play with what you can afford. Casino games are designed for entertainment purposes. There are several legit online casinos that offer blackjack with small tables. Good luck in your blackjack endeavor and remember its all fun and games until someone looses what they can't afford!

Decide before you start how much you are going to bet each hand(i.e. $5,$10,$25). Stick with that wether you are winning or losing. Your decision to hit or not is based on the dealers up card. If the dealer has 10, or face card up you should hit 16 or less in your hand. You should always assume the dealer has 10 not showing. If the dealer has a 2 thru 6 showing you should not hit 12 or higher(your expecting the dealer to bust) this is also a good time to double down if you have 10, or 11. Never take insurance. Always play your cards and don't worry about what the other people at your table think or say. Make sure you only take what you can afford to lose. Have fun, you not trying to make a living.
I'm going to share a very closely guarded secret of mine about Blackjack and all games of chance. The secret to winning in all of them is not to play at all. Hope this helps.
OK i am a professional blackjack player. i always win never lost at the table. this is what i do. say the dealer has a 6 face up and i have 12 what i would do is stand at the low number because most of the time the dealer will go over 21 and so on you really have to know how to count cards to be a real good player keep track in your head how many aces were played and take inconsideration how many decks the casino is dealing. multiply that at you learned to count cards. watch the table for 5 minutes before you start betting get to know the rhythm of the dealer and go from thee take it from an expert. i took 20 dollars before and TURNED IT IN TO 5000 DOLLARS IN ONE NIGHT doing that strategy.
There are many simple, very easy to understand booklets on the odds in BlackJack and how to bet on them. A more important tip is to recognize a table where the cards are randomized so that the odds are not slanted. Casinos use shuffling techniques where the cards do not come up completely random and this throws off the odds. The longer a deck is in play the more random the cards become.
Black jack is partly what you have in your hands, but also a lot about what the person before you just got dealt, and what the dealer's got. There are some good books out there, check out this link:

The official and most useful site for odds and strategy in casino games is wizardofodds.com. They have charts that explain everything to do in every situation for every game (blackjack and the other table games offered in casinos like 3 card poker and carribean stud).

If you want to play blackjack online, I suggest wsopfreerolls.com. They offer both free games and real money games, and they have a great interface.
Based on odds, the best move to make is to follow those in the chart on the address provided below. It tells you by your hand and what the dealer is showing what to do (i.e. stand, hit, or double down) It does not identify when to split, however simple judgment should be used to determine when to split. For example if you have two identical face cards and the dealer is showing a 6, probably a good time to split. But generally I would follow the moves on the chart below, as they show the best move based on calculated odds.

This chart is pretty easy to use and carry in your pocket http://www.theultimatecasinoguide.com/ar鈥?/a> There's also a game known as Pontoon some online sites carry (I've seen it in their reviews section) that has a smaller house edge than Black Jack, but is basically the same game.
